Since the start of the transmission season, at least 241 cases of West Nile virus have been recorded in the European Union. The latest weekly figures from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), published on Friday, cover cases recorded up to and including Wednesday.
The virus’s transmission season runs roughly from June to November.
