A case of West Nile virus has been reported in Macomer, Italy. The case was detected in a Macomer resident who had also been in Bosa.
The mayor has ordered preventative measures to control West Nile virus, Usutu virus, and other vector-borne viral diseases.
These measures include avoiding standing water, keeping grounds clean, protecting oneself from insect bites, and treating drains with larvicide.
