The Israeli Ministry of Health reports one death and ten diagnosed cases of West Nile fever this season.
A 70-year-old man died after developing symptoms in mid-July. Three patients remain hospitalized.
Mosquitoes infected with the virus have been detected in Tel Aviv-Yafo, Taiba, Tira, Qalanswa, and the Lev Hasharon Regional Council. Local authorities are urged to intensify pest prevention and control measures, and the public is advised to eliminate sources of standing water and take precautions against mosquito bites.
