A Vietnamese merchant marine crew member has been admitted to Las Higueras Hospital in Talcahuano with symptoms consistent with hemorrhagic fever. The ship he was traveling on, which originated in Asia and had a stop in Africa, has been quarantined in the port of Talcahuano.
All necessary precautionary measures are being taken due to the severity of the symptoms and the possibility of various types of hemorrhagic fever, until a diagnosis is confirmed.
