As of June 16, 280 cases of typhoid fever had been reported at the National Center for Mental Health (NCMH) in Mandaluyong.
Of these, 216 patients have recovered, and 12 are still receiving treatment.
Typhoid fever is caused by the Salmonella Typhi bacteria and is spread through contaminated food or water. Symptoms include high fever, abdominal pain, and headache. Without proper treatment, it can be fatal.
