Two new cases of hantavirus have been confirmed in the municipality of Padcaya, Tarija, Bolivia. Both patients are elderly and are in stable condition receiving medical attention. Health authorities have activated epidemiological protocols for monitoring and control in the affected areas, and are recommending preventive measures to the population, especially in rural areas, to avoid contact with rodents and maintain hygiene.
