A 13-year-old boy died after being stung by a venomous box jellyfish while swimming at Ban Fai Thai beach in Nakhon Si Thammarat province, Thailand.
The species identified is an Australian box jellyfish, known for its potent venom that can cause cardiac or respiratory arrest within minutes. Several fatal incidents involving this species have been reported in recent years.
