Since July 12, 2026, two new confirmed cases of cVDPV2 and no deaths have been reported in Jigawa and Nasarawa states in Nigeria. So far this year, Nigeria has reported a total of 37 vaccine-derived poliovirus cases: 30 cases of cVDPV2 and 7 cases of cVDPV3.
