Nampula province, Mozambique, reports a measles outbreak with 1,498 cases and three deaths in 10 districts. Health authorities are intensifying vaccination efforts, including mass campaigns in priority districts and the use of mobile teams. It is estimated that about 200,000 children will be vaccinated in Nacarôa, Memba, and Liúpo. Lack of prior vaccination and fuel shortages have hindered operations. 500,000 children under five have been vaccinated, and a national campaign is being prepared to include children up to 15 years old, with support from the WHO and UNICEF.
