Between epidemiological weeks 1 and 23 of 2026, the Region of the Americas reported 22,324 confirmed cases of measles in 17 countries and territories, with 38 deaths.
This represents a 207% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Mexico, Guatemala, the United States, and Canada accounted for 97% of the cases. In epidemiological weeks 21 and 22 of 2026, 827 new cases were registered in seven countries, 29.1% fewer than in the previous period, due to the reduction in Canada and Mexico.
The United States remains stable, and Peru reports cases concentrated in Puno.
Trends in Guatemala require caution due to possible reporting delays.
