An imported case of measles has been confirmed in Amazonas, Colombia, belonging to a 2-year-old Peruvian child. This case brings the total number of cases associated with international importation in Colombia during 2026 to 15, originating from countries such as Peru, Mexico, the United States, and Panama. The child, with an unknown vaccination history, resides in San Isidro, Loreto (Peru), entered Leticia (Amazonas, Colombia), and traveled to Tabatinga (Brazil), where he remains in isolation. Colombian authorities are undertaking surveillance, vaccination verification, and contact tracing activities to prevent sustained transmission of the virus, which has not been evidenced in the country as of epidemiological week 36 of 2026. The call for vaccination and isolation when symptoms appear is reiterated.
