July 27, 2026

Mayón Volcano remains at alert level 3 due to intensified instability and magmatic activity. Strombolian activity and continuous lava flows have been recorded in several ravines, reaching distances of up to 3.8 km. Seven volcanic earthquakes and 19 rockfalls have been detected. Sulfur dioxide emissions are at 2,903 tons per day, and the gas plume reaches 750 meters.

Deformation of the volcanic edifice indicates internal pressure. Warnings are issued regarding the risks of rockfalls, avalanches, lava flows, pyroclastic flows, and lahars. Access to the 6 km Permanent Danger Zone around the volcano is prohibited, and flights near the summit are discouraged.
