An outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease has been detected in the Pamplona region, mainly affecting Burlada and Villava. As of September 8th, 31 cases have been reported, with ages ranging from 35 to 90 years, the majority being over 65. The condition is more common in men, and many cases have required hospitalization. Transmission occurs through inhalation of contaminated water aerosols, not from person to person or by consuming water. Samples have been taken from cooling towers, and preventive measures have been implemented.
