The province of Santa Fe has registered an increase in confirmed and probable cases of leptospirosis in 2026. Up to epidemiological week 34, 581 cases were reported, of which 75 (13%) were confirmed or probable.
This figure exceeds the cases registered in the same period of 2024 (61) and 2025 (39). Annually, in 2026, 75 confirmed or probable cases are accounted for, representing 13% of notifications, compared to 6% in 2024 and 7% in 2025. 55% of confirmed and probable cases required hospitalization. One death was reported in 2026, a 41-year-old man residing in the department of La Capital.
