Honduras has recorded 175 cumulative cases and 14 deaths from pertussis so far in 2016, surpassing the figures from the previous year.
The disease is preventable through vaccination. Most of the deaths are among children under one year old.
It is recommended to achieve immunization coverage of 95-100% and to vaccinate pregnant women and children according to the established schedule.
