Manitoba, Canada, is experiencing a hepatitis A (HAV) outbreak with 658 confirmed cases, 142 hospitalizations, 5 ICU admissions, and 4 deaths since April 2025.
The outbreak, initially in the northern part of the province, has spread throughout Manitoba, with 143 cases in Winnipeg. Overcrowding and a lack of sanitation and clean water infrastructure in remote communities are contributing to transmission.
The CDC has issued a Level 1 travel advisory.
