Sixty cases of suspected food poisoning were reported in Khenchela Province, Algeria, linked to fast food from a local restaurant in the municipality of Chechar.

The causative pathogen has not yet been identified. No deaths were reported.

Most of those affected were treated at Chadli Bendjedid Public Hospital and have since been discharged. Investigations are ongoing, with rising summer temperatures being considered a possible contributing factor.
