Indonesia’s main airport, Soekarno-Hatta, near Jakarta, has suspended flight operations due to the detection of volcanic ash from the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau. The suspension was in effect until 1:30 p.m. local time (6:30 a.m. GMT) on Sunday, September 6, 2026. Two new eruptions were recorded on Sunday, with ash reaching up to 6,000 meters in Java and up to 15,000 meters in Sumatra and Banten.
