The Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has caused over 3,600 deaths and is approaching 7,500 confirmed cases. In the last 24 hours, 71 new infections and 28 deaths were recorded. 1,798 patients have recovered, and 905 are hospitalized or in isolation.
The province of Ituri is the epicenter, concentrating 77.5% of cases. The outbreak is expanding to new areas with less response capacity, such as South Ubangi, while North Kivu registers a sharp increase in new cases. Doctors Without Borders (MSF) warns that the outbreak is not reducing but displacing, and requests greater support from UN agencies.
