A case of vaccine-derived poliovirus type 2 (cVDPV2) has been confirmed in a 48-month-old girl in the Dadaab camp, Kenya. The girl, with no documented vaccine doses, recently arrived from Baidoa, Somalia, and resided in Ifo II West, Dadaab. The virus is genetically linked to the SOM-BAY-1 cluster. Another suspected case was reported on August 25, and seven community alerts were ruled out. Full vaccination, hygiene, and active surveillance are recommended.
