In the Akmola region of Kazakhstan, 532 cases of tick bites have been reported since the start of the epidemic season, including 144 in children under 14 years old. Four cases of tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) have been reported. A 17-year-old high school student is hospitalized in serious condition. Preventative immunoglobulin treatment was administered to 425 people.
