The Indonesian Ministry of Health has identified 13,297 suspected cases of leprosy, 21,079 of scabies, and 2,293 of yaws under the 2026 Free Health Examinations (CKG) program. These examinations have been intensified to accelerate the elimination of these diseases by 2030.
Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin highlighted the stigma associated with leprosy, which hinders detection and treatment despite the availability of effective treatments. PCR testing will be implemented in eastern Indonesia, and preventive treatment will be administered to close contacts.
The CKG program reached more than 25 million participants aged one year and older.
