The World Health Organization (WHO) has identified Bangladesh as one of the ten countries with the highest number of people affected by Hepatitis C globally.
On World Hepatitis Day, the WHO is urging urgent action to expand access to prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of the disease in the country, breaking down the barriers that prevent millions of people from receiving the necessary care. It emphasizes that Hepatitis C is preventable, treatable, and curable, but late diagnosis and lack of access to timely testing and treatment remain significant challenges.
