Zambian authorities have declared a state of alert in Muchinga Province due to an alleged anthrax outbreak. Approximately 40 animal deaths have been reported in the districts of Mpika, Lavushimanda, and Shiwang’andu. Eleven people are suspected of being affected. Government teams are assessing the extent of the outbreak and considering containment measures.
