At least 21 rabies deaths have been reported in Sindh so far this year.
The proliferation of stray dogs and lack of timely access to post-exposure rabies treatment are the main causes. Authorities are urged to implement a comprehensive strategy including vaccination, population control, removal of rabid animals, availability of treatment, public awareness, and a bite reporting system.
